Poëziecentrum (The Poetry Center), Belgium, with the support of the Belgian Pen Club (PEN Vlaanderen), has recently released the Dutch translation of collection of poems entitled "I am Not a Sea" by Hosheng Ossi.

The book consists of thirteen Arabic poems along with a Dutch translation. The Belgian writer and novelist Eric Flamink, president of the Belgian Pen Club penned the introduction for this new poetic collection.

Lore Baeten, professor of Arabic language at the University of Leuven, translated the poems from Arabic to Dutch.

Hosheng Ossi is a Syrian-Kurdish author. He was born in 1976 and writes in both Kurdish and Arabic. Up to now, he has published nine collections of poetry. He has also published three novels: “The Weight of Certainty ... The Plight of Questioning and the Lust for Imagination” (2016), “An Open Party of Illusions” (2018), and the third one is “The Afghani: Concerned Skies” (2020).

His poems were translated into English, French and the Dutch. He has participated in many literary and cultural forums, inside and outside Belgium.
